Quality Manager
We understand that a career move is not just about a new role – it's about finding a place where your skills, ambitions, and values align.
About the client
Our client is a manufacturing company that is part of a well-established European industrial group, with operations in several countries and decades of engineering behind it. The site builds complex industrial equipment end to end, from design to delivery, backed by the stability, resources and mature systems of an international group. What makes this moment interesting is that the company has decided to give quality a stronger voice and is looking for the person who will lead it with genuine authority, not as a support function.
About the role
You take ownership of quality across the entire value chain of the plant. That starts with the external suppliers delivering standard materials, continues with the production units acting as internal suppliers, and covers the customer requirements that come in through design. The role is designed as a function with its own authority, separate from the production line. You lead a team of three and you are the person accountable for reducing non-conformities and stabilising processes. Quality is the core of the role. Alongside it, you oversee the occupational health and safety and environmental system. Day-to-day health and safety work is handled by specialised external providers, and the company sponsors the 80-hour health and safety course, so prior experience in that field is not required to step into the role.
Responsabilities:
Quality across the value chain
Manage external supplier quality together with Purchasing: evaluate suppliers, run supplier audits and monitor material conformity.
Work with the heads of both production units as internal suppliers, set clear criteria and make sure they are met.
Ensure customer requirements captured by design are correctly reflected in the product.
Handle complaints and non-conformities, lead root cause analysis and track the cost of poor quality until you bring it down.
Management system and certifications
Maintain and develop the integrated management system under ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, aligned with the group’s corporate system.
Plan and lead internal audits, coordinate external and certification audits, and turn findings into improvement plans.
Coordinate the management review and build the organisational structure of the quality function.
Health, safety and environment
Oversee compliance with ISO 45001 and Romanian health and safety legislation, coordinating the external providers the plant works with.
Coordinate risk assessments and accident investigations, and help build a prevention culture on the shop floor.
Oversee compliance with ISO 14001 and environmental legislation, including permits, waste and emissions, and support energy efficiency initiatives.
Your team
Lead your team, and develop them so the system runs without depending on you at every step.
Qualifications:
• Short description of the qualifications
What your first year looks like
The first three months are about getting to know the plant, the people and the way the group works. By month six, you will have carried out an internal audit and own a remediation plan. By month twelve, success is measured in fewer non-conformities and stable processes.
What we are looking for
Essential
University degree in engineering.
5 to 7 years of experience in quality management in an industrial environment.
Proven experience with supplier audits and with implementing systems and standards, particularly ISO 9001.
Ability to run internal audits from planning through to the action plan.
Experience leading teams.
Advanced Romanian and English.
Professional authority: you stand behind your standards in front of production, with arguments, and you do not bend under deadline pressure.
Nice to have
Exposure to ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or to working with health, safety and environmental authorities.
Background in metal fabrication or machining.
About the offer
Short description of the compensation and benefits package
A role with real authority over quality, independent from production.
A clear first-year mandate, with objectives endorsed by management.
The 80-hour health and safety course, sponsored by the company, to extend your expertise beyond quality.
Work within an international group, with a mature corporate system and a multicultural environment.
